Google’s “hijackedspeedtest keywords and place its products above competitors’ and present “answers” (or “direct answers”) on the search page:Google Search Hijack speedtest keywords

I assumed it was a google product (or a product that has a close connection with the google company) because the following information clearly appears on the link https://www.measurementlab.net/about/:

Measurement Lab is led by teams based at Code for Science & Society; Google, Inc; and supported by partners around the world.

Curiously I used the test to see the results and the web design:

Google Search mlab speedtest result

The result was a disappointing one, it does not reflect the reality on the upload side !!!

In the past I usually used speedtest.net (Speedtest by Ookla) for such tests, it seems quite reliable, both in the past and now:

Internet Speedtest by Ookla

This google behavior will kill Ookla’s revenue from all that speedtest.net means, and may affect the entire company in a negative way!

Speaking of speed tests, for some time I developed my own internet speed testing tool, because I needed something specific to show me the speed graph in real time, this way I get a much clearer idea about the true quality, maximum and minimum speed, not an average one.

Such a test is extremely useful when you want to position a directional GSM antenna and adjust it better to the signal tower.

But let’s get back to our problem, what Google does is not ethical or common sense, it is even against the law I would say!

Google has taken $2.8 billion antitrust fine, but it seems that the profit is much higher than the fines so that it deliberately continues to break the law and common sense!

The European Commission has fined Google €2.42 billion for breaching EU antitrust rules. Google has abused its market dominance as a search engine by giving an illegal advantage to another Google product, its comparison shopping service.
